Cooking on a time limit.

my counselling course has been delayedd! But thats ok! im booked to start it in Janurary which gives me abit more time to concentrate on my maths and english evening classes ๐Ÿ™‚

Its been about eating on the run though! and some times i dont always have time to make proper meals, i bought this quick and easy lot from budgens on my way to (what i thought was counselling…)

Chicken pasta a bear pear and orange juicee, i actually had the pair PEAR (why is it soo hard to write pear?!?) at 9pm..u kno just b’cos!

yeaaa ibs hates garlicy onion gluten pastaaaa =bad move

Obviously with all the bad job issues im having at the moment ive been getting quite down/depressed, i hate feeling like this and so my friend stevie called up and asked if i wanted to see that new julia roberts film ๐Ÿ™‚ he said it was about a lady trying to find who she was and going from there and said thats what im trying to do, i took up his offer even though it was a sunday evening after work and all i wanted to do was curl in a ball and stew in my self pity state..oh god haha

I tried to get a nice picture of stevie in the cinema but i failed haha he never lets me take pictures, i got one of myself though before hand… haha talk about caught in the camra flash light haha

I managed to kind of take a picture of him last christmas..hahha some people i guess just hate pictures!

I have decided though even if i have no time that i have ended up latly eating the same sort of things, tinned spaghetti..soup…alot of sandwiches..jackets….fish fingers…..more tinned spaghetti haha that i will MAKE SOME FOOD!

the beauty of freezers aye!

I baked the marrow ring, covered in tin-foil for 15 mins to soften it up whilst in the microwave i heated up some soy mince mixed with water, mixed herbs, soy sauce and heinz tomato ketchup until it created a gravy and heated through.

I then drained the mince and placed it inside the marrow ring, priking the side of the marrow and placed it in the oven for 30 mins, **i used the rest of the mince gravy to pour on afterwards**

Whilst that was cooking i micro’ed a sweet potato untill soft and mashed,

i placed this ontop of the marrow ring and returned it into the oven for the remaining 30 mins

this was sooo nice! it was also nice though to actually cook somthing diffrent ๐Ÿ™‚ i love stuffed marrow its always been a favorite of mine, aparently my mum used to eat it tons whilst preggers with me, might be why?

(btw thats grilled sweet potato skins next to the grilled asparagus and left over gravy)

ive been working on a whole string of jewlrey which im excited to show you next time!

my family have gone to Malta this week as my mum has done a paddy diving course and wants to test it out so homeee alone ๐Ÿ™‚ lush!

why the pie face?

I dont like to air my dirty washing online but i thought id explain why im abit down at the moment!
Me and jason last tuesday planned a great day together for last thursday, he was sooo sweet and everything and i havnt hurd from him since!..i dont realy understand why.. i meen sometimes we go like 3 days without speaking but a whole week? i guess it dosnt soun good even though hes always busy and stuff (works weird hours..always when im off and other way around!) but i meen i txt him twice within this week (gahh i wish u all knew the massive story about how i try to play it cool but play it too cool) i meen i may be over reacting.. i do this alot if he goes like 3 days im like omgg its over he dosnt want me anymoreee, but because he was so wanting to see me when we were talking on tueday its major out of character… ok im going to stop now i think i just need to get it out u know…

I had a job interview today!
its in admin (im going for temp 2 year jobs before i go into the navy) im not sure how well it went..ย 
there was alot of umm-ing and ahh-ing going on from my part..
it wasnt good! im currently hoping to get a response to
orangutan-appealย which is based 10 mins drive away in brockenhurst, the closing date is monday at noon..i hand delived today so fingers crossed!

Lentil gardeners pie!

This was abit of a BISH-BOSH-BASH meal with bits of whatever i could get my hands on shuved in a pan and covered in herbed mashed sweet potatoes… ohh yeeeaahhh!

green lentils, spinach, tomato puree, cherry tomatoes, water, frozen peas, chestnuts, celery, brussel sprouts, tamari sauce, mixed herbs

I lovee abit of mash and veggie fingers! exspeshh when the mash is made with rice milk, and herbiess ๐Ÿ˜‰

The blog world is looovvvvinn their GNOCCHI at the moment, its always been my fav ๐Ÿ™‚ and one day i will try making it…

but untill then shop bought is the way for me!

..the sauce was home made though ๐Ÿ˜‰

Good morning!

Sorry i havnt been around, job hunting is really taking it out of me, job interview on tuesday though!

I was going to post abit about mine and jason run on thursday but it didnt end up happening..i dont know why? hmm..

and unfortuntly its been raining soo much that me and Calan couldnt go for our bike ride and picnic..

STOP WITH THE RAIN! .. i meen i know its England and it rains ALLL THE TIME

but give us a break yea? ;D TEEHEE

Thought i would start this post off with some art!

Remeber that canvas i started a couple weeks ago? well i finally hung it and forgot to show u ๐Ÿ˜€ so here u are!

I tried a mixture of saag paneer and sagg aloo, sagg paneer is normaly spinach curry with cheese but commonly changed to tofu, and sagg aloo is spinach curry with potatoes

I used tofu and potatoes



Easy recipe, you can add garlic and spices to the pan first but i didnt

Cumin and coriander in a pan with the potatoes, i added the thawed out frozen spinach in with Half tsp of garam masala
simmer for 10 mins
add the baked tofu slices or chunks and simmer for 5 more mins
then enjoy!

I re-made BANANA BREAD by replacing the white flour with wholewheat and one tbsp less of oil (2) and half the sugar (ran out)ย iย added saltanas and raisins too!ย it was abit dry to be honest so i put some lemon and lime jam on it ! it was more bready than anything!, soft and yummy though!

I finally got my mesuring cup and spoon set! its so hard trying to make american recipes when i have no cups haha…well ive been using normal cups but id prefer to get it right ๐Ÿ™‚ ยฃ2.40 on amazon!!

BRAZIL

I LOVED โ™ฅ โ™ฅ this!!

I mixed kidney beans, celery, couple chopped cherry tomatoes, spinach and a couple blobs of gluten free brown sauce
this i put in a saucepan with a little water and let it bubble away untill the mixture reduced and the celery was soft
I paired this with brown rice and broccoli…also a small strawberry salad with balsamic
I love making recipes! the brown sauce realy made it TAAANGGY

Inย another version i added pinapple chunks and subbed the spinach but that was more caribbean:)

I’m going to be trying diffrent recipes from around the world in my coming posts ๐Ÿ™‚

On the 6th Apirl Alisdair, my mum and my sister…and obviously me are off to LONGLEAT for any of you none uk bloggers its a massssive safari park, realy well made for the animals and other attractions (click the link)

My mother works in Africa, thika alot and so it probs wont be the same for her…

cant wait though ๐Ÿ™‚

IBS trials…

Ive been asked to take part in an IBS trial for 10 weeks to see if it improves my ..err ibs?

Ive got an appointment for 9:45 on tuesday at the hospital to discuss the trial, he said theres no point going private because there is no proven cure for IBS as of yet!

the trial is alot of pro biotics and so im not really keen on being part of it! reason being is because IM A VEGAN and my tummy reacts to dairy so err.. how is yoghurt drinks going to help me?!?! .. its worth going for the chat though!

VEGAN BANANA BREAD

I used This recipe, I get them come up on myย blackberry so i can make it without having to write it down, its so simplee ๐Ÿ˜‰
I love how i made it and then after i had finished and cleaned away dinner it was ready! my little sister has a PHOBIA of bananas so liturly screamed when she smelt it hahaha

WHAT ARE YOUR PHOBIAS?
I had the end slice with abit of rasberry jam on, it was soo good! make the recipe!

Vegan sausage hot pot

I had an intresting dinner last night, I started off with my fav! gnocchi, tofu weiner, chopped tomatoes
I boiled both the sausage and the gnocchi for 10 mins untill they came to the top

after placing the gnocchi on the bottom of my oven dish i chopped my tofu sausage into slices and places them on top with some chopped cerery


I then poured the tomatoes ontop of this, covering it with herbs and a selection of vegetables, i used carrots, broccoli, sprouts, cauliflower (tastes amazing baked!)

Baked it for around 1/2 hour and poured out…would have been better to eat in the dish but im weird and like eating from plates!

It was lovely..if i say so myself, the tang from the sausages infused with the sauce and seeped into the gnocchi and veg… YUM

ofcourse ive been painting too ๐Ÿ™‚


I LIKE PAINTING BLUE MEN .. confession ๐Ÿ˜€ he has pig trotters for hands and bird feet, hes going to have white rabbit ears too!
This is an old one i am finishing off.. if u look properly u can see its painted over another one.. that was my gcse canvas underneeth teehee ๐Ÿ˜‰

Free Tea…

Living in the united kingdom makes you automaticaly a tea drinker i think! and I โ™ฅ new flavors of tea!

and i โ™ฅ it even more when i get free tea samples in the post ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m not going to lie to you.. i didnt like them! they were too hmmm..sweet i think for me, they smelt gorgeous though!

For my course at college we had to design and make chinese tea ceromony pots and cups

HAHAH ok my lighting for these pictures suck but i couldnt be bothered to wait till morning!

My grandad brought these back from japan in the navy! there very old but still so beautiful ๐Ÿ™‚

I decided to wim it and not use a recipe and in the end created…..

Tofu and kidney bean blobs!!

I put in the blender half a block of tofu (SHOULD HAVE USED A WHOLE ONE), mixed herbs and a large can of kidney beans
It was realy runny and didnt form patties at all.. i will stick to form mashing next time as i dont have a food prosessor
I plopped the mixture into little dollops of …err mixture and shoved them in the oven!

when i pulled them out they looked like burgers! so i had to re think my plans..

i went with udon noodles topped with tinned plum tomatoes and mixed herbs…. LOVEE IT

The flavors went all together great

and lots of leftover mini burgers to use ๐Ÿ™‚

I lovee green tea with orange and lotus flower and peppermint ๐Ÿ™‚ but il experiment with any flavor!

noodles for noodles

ello ello!
soooo much has happened the last few days its crazy..i’m trying to decide how much of my life i want to put on the net but i’m sure i will post about it soon ๐Ÿ™‚

I have been baking though…and i’m going to shair it with you lovely lot ๐Ÿ™‚

Flapjacksss.. before baking!!

I would love to be able to share the recipe with you but unfortunately my mother (I wouldnโ€™t know because Iโ€™m allergic to oats) said it was โ€œtoo healthy tastingโ€ even though I added golden syrup AND honeyโ€ฆweirdo ;D

It was literally a mix of oats, oat bran and wheat bran, soya butter, brown sugar , golden syrup, raisins mixed up and put onto a baking tray.

Finally I drizzled some agave nectar on top and sprinkled some chopped Spanish cooking chocolate… Yummy

Bargin food shopping, everyone does it right?

I think i can’t be the only one out there to buy some things in bulk! for example in tescos i bought these rice noodles that were reduced to 50p! bargin ๐Ÿ˜‰ … unfortuntly i realise being such a MASSSIVEEEE bag its going to take abit to get through..that or make everything possible with it ๐Ÿ˜€ the quest begins!!
what sort of things do YOU bulk buy?

I didn’t get round to make normal pancakes :O so i customized some.. introducing…. rice noodle pancakes!


I cooked the noodles in some herbed hot water for 10 mins before shaping them.

All i did was place them in the oven for 20/25 mins (turning inbetweeen) with some cooking spray untill they went all crrrrrispy

I paired them with slices of soy tofu and HEARTS OF PALM! it was my first time trying them and i guess they were alright.. prefer artichoke ALOT more though.

Diffrent methods includee:

Rice noodles in sesame dressing, soy sauced tofu, lemon grass, courgette slices, carrots, pak choy, red cabbage, all stir fried up in my trusty wok.. funny to think I cooked it one every night and ate with chopsticks only a year ago!

There was a lot! Of rice noodles in that bag and the next night it got me thinkingโ€ฆ


I this time teamed the noodles with braised tofu, baby corncobs, BAKED PARSNIP (oh how I love theee) garden peas and curly kale ๐Ÿ˜€ all stir fried of course.

I run the bakery on sundays and thankfully work with one of my best friends, Dee!

This is infact her lunch not mine.. but shes on a quest to be healthy and i thought (asked ofcourse) i would show her progress on my blog ๐Ÿ™‚

“chicken and lettuce on wholemeal, orange slices, saltanas and ….uhh cucumber?” haha why she did this mix i will never know!

gotta love living in the new forest!

As in my last post i showed you some cards i made for some workies well because it was their birthday i decided to bake a cake!

Totally un vegan and gluten-tastic but its how they love it ๐Ÿ™‚

plus the icing names of mich and angie were done using ginger bread man button sticking on icing and not writing icing so haha just defending my cake ๐Ÿ˜€

Lion mornings

Afternoon ๐Ÿ™‚
Finally got a day off work! and inbetween of a couple art jobs ive got on the go i decided to do a rather boring post
gutted for you ๐Ÿ˜‰ heeh
scrum yum stufffageee
***TOFU SCRAMBLE***

  • half block of firm tofu
  • termeric
  • tamari soy sauce
  • tomatoes/peas/mushroomsI cooked this in a pan with somecooking spray for 10 mins untill the tomatoes were soft and the tofu was browning (yellowing? aha)
    I served it with salad and paprika coated potato wedges.
  • ***CHUNKY BUTTER-BEAN SAUCE***

    I know it seems i eat alot of spuds… well.. actually i do? cant beat them ;D

    This was abit of a quick meal to be honest though, i’m working on the illustrations for a childrens book at the mo and its taking up alot of my time! ..seeing as i can only draw when im not at my actuall job!!
    but anyway…

    A basic tomato pasta sauce with Basil, onion, garlic, tomatoes (chopped and in juice), lemon juice, and black pepper

    I added peas, butter beans and chopped pineapple slices to my sauce while cooking

    I placed it ontop of roasted potato slices and mixed veggies, it was divine!

    the pineapple realy goes well with the sauce.




    I totally wake up with this hair every morning haha,
    Dispite me having the nickname “bunny” i am mostly known by people by my crazy lion hair ๐Ÿ™‚ it is actually requested when i go out!
    beleive it or not but its worse when its in its natural dryed state of curlyness rather than blown dry like this..

    a quick run over the the straightners and a slap of makeup and im ready to go…

    ๐Ÿ˜€ soo thankful they were invented.. could be an awesome hippy though…
